Typical Water Well Installation |
|
Although well constructions methods are dependent on the underlying geology, the majority of wells constructed in southeastern Wisconsin utilize air or mud rotary drilling. Using a truck-mounted rig, a hole is drilled through the soil and rock to reach ground water. Steel casing is inserted into the hole and sealed with bentonite to keep the walls from collapsing and to prevent surface water from infiltrating the well.
